Within the division into twelve, the sixth [part], clarifying the characteristics of skill in distinguishing the mutual subsumption between the sixteen aspects and the three gateways of liberation, is divided into three:
First, clarifying the meaning of mutual subsumption, divided into three: 1. clarifying the characteristics of subsumption by the emptiness gateway of liberation, divided into two: (1) inquiry; (2) answer, divided into two: a. presentation; b. explanation; 2. clarifying the characteristics of subsumption by the wishless gateway of liberation, divided into two: (1) inquiry; (2) answer, divided into two: a. presentation; b. explanation; 3. clarifying the characteristics of subsumption by the signless gateway of liberation, divided into two: (1) inquiry; (2) answer.
Second, clarifying the practice revealed by the cause of purification, divided into two: 1. inquiry; 2. answer.
Third, answering objections, divided into two: 1. inquiry; 2. answer, divided into three: (1) answering the intent of explaining emptiness first; (2) answering the intent of establishing impermanence; (3) answering the reason why.
