分十七中第五依眾生等義明根依處差別分三。一總問。二略答。三別釋經句分五。一明眾生義。二明存活義。三明住義。四明持義。五明安隱義。

Under the seventeen divisions, the fifth [section], clarifying the distinctions among the bases of the faculties based on the meanings of sentient beings and so forth, is divided into three: 1. general question; 2. brief answer; 3. distinct explanations of the sūtra phrases, divided into five: (1) clarifying the meaning of sentient being, (2) clarifying the meaning of living, (3) clarifying the meaning of abiding, (4) clarifying the meaning of upholding, (5) clarifying the meaning of peaceful security.
