The eighth [section] among the fourteen divisions, explaining the meaning of the birth of sentient beings in the three times, is divided into three: 1. explaining the characteristics of those already born, divided into two: (1) questioning and (2) answering; 2. explaining the characteristics of those not yet born, divided into two: (1) questioning and (2) answering; and 3. explaining the characteristics of those presently being born, divided into two: (1) questioning and (2) answering. The ninth [section] among the fourteen divisions, explaining the meaning of sentient beings' abiding through nutriment, is divided into two: 1. explaining the characteristics of being sustained, divided into two: (1) questioning and (2) answering; and 2. explaining the characteristics of abiding, divided into two: (1) questioning and (2) answering.
