分三中第一明思惟色蘊所攝地等四界作業差別分二。一總問。二廣答分二。一依各別五業明作業差別義分四。一明地界作業相分五如論。二明水界作業相分五如論。三明火界作業相分五如論。四明風界作業相分五如論。第二依通作五業明作業相分三。一總標。二列名分五如論。三別釋分五。一明生起作業相。二明依止作業相。三明建立作業相。四明住持作業相。五明增長作業相。

Within the division into three, the first, clarifying the contemplation of the distinctions of activities of the four elements—earth and so forth—subsumed under the form aggregate, is divided into two: (1) general question; and (2) detailed answer, divided into two: [a] based on the distinct five activities, clarifying the meaning of the distinctions of activities, divided into four: <i> clarifying the characteristics of the activities of the earth element, divided into five, as in the treatise; <ii> clarifying the characteristics of the activities of the water element, divided into five, as in the treatise; <iii> clarifying the characteristics of the activities of the fire element, divided into five, as in the treatise; <iv> clarifying the characteristics of the activities of the wind element, divided into five, as in the treatise; and [b] based on commonly producing the five activities, clarifying the characteristics of the activities, divided into three: <i> general statement; <ii> listing the terms, divided into five, as in the treatise; and <iii> separate explanations, divided into five: (i) clarifying the characteristics of the activity of arising; (ii) clarifying the characteristics of the activity of support; (iii) clarifying the characteristics of the activity of establishment; (iv) clarifying the characteristics of the activity of maintenance; and (v) clarifying the characteristics of the activity of increase.
