Within the division into six, the fifth, contemplating the distinctions among the six kinds of spheres of activity, is divided into three: (1) general question; (2) detailed answer; and (3) general conclusion. The detailed answer is divided into six: [a] based on support, clarifying the nature of the sphere of activity, divided into two: <i> statement, and <ii> explanation, divided into two, as in the treatise; [b] based on characteristics, clarifying the nature of the sphere of activity, divided into three: <i> general statement; <ii> listing the terms, divided into five, as in the treatise; and <iii> separate explanations, divided into five: (i) based on form objects, clarifying the distinctions among the three characteristics, divided into three: clarifying the distinctions of form characteristics, divided into two: statement, and explanation; clarifying the distinctions of form functions, divided into two: statement, and explanation; and the distinctions of states of form, divided into two: statement, and explanation; (ii) clarifying the distinctions among the three characteristics of sound, divided into three: clarifying the distinctions of sound characteristics, divided into two: statement, and explanation, divided into three, as in the treatise; clarifying the distinctions of sound functions, divided into two: statement, and explanation; and clarifying the distinctions of states of sound; (iii) clarifying the distinctions among the three characteristics of smell, divided into three: clarifying the distinctions of smell characteristics, divided into two: statement, and explanation; clarifying the distinctions of smell functions, divided into two: statement, and explanation; and clarifying the distinctions of states of smell; (iv) clarifying the distinctions among the three characteristics of taste, divided into two: statement, and explanation; and (v) clarifying the distinctions among the three characteristics of tangibles, divided into two: statement, and explanation; [c] based on direction, clarifying the nature of the sphere of activity, divided into two: <i> statement, and <ii> explanation; [d] based on time, clarifying the nature of the sphere of activity, divided into two: <i> statement, and <ii> explanation; [e] based on clarity and unclarity, clarifying the nature of the sphere of activity, divided into two: <i> statement, and <ii> explanation; and [f] based on apprehending a portion and apprehending the entire entity, clarifying the nature of the sphere of activity, divided into two: <i> statement, and <ii> explanation. The third is the general conclusion.
