Eighth among the nine [sections] of the extensive answers: explaining the faculties receiving sensory objects, conditions, and related matters, divided into six: 1. Explaining the characteristic of receiving the six sense objects, divided into two: (1) heading; (2) explanation. 2. Explaining the characteristic of learning speech, divided into two: (1) heading; (2) explanation. 3. Explaining the characteristic of attachment to household life, divided into two: (1) heading; (2) explanation. 4. Explaining the characteristic of learning arts and crafts, divided into two: (1) heading; (2) explanation. 5. Explaining the characteristic of experiencing sense objects, divided into two: (1) heading; (2) explanation. 6. Explaining the characteristic of experiencing suffering and pleasure, divided into two: (1) heading; (2) explanation, divided into two: [a] establishing the cause, divided into two as in the treatise; [b] revealing the effect, divided into two: (i) explaining the fruits of the defiled category, (ii) explaining the fruits of the pure category.
