Regarding "It is said that signless apprehension does not apprehend signs": this is stated in fascicle 73 of the Yogācārabhūmi: There are three kinds of apprehension. 1. Apprehension with words and with signs, which is apprehension by those whose discursive speech is actively awake. 2. Apprehension without words and with signs, which is apprehension by those whose discursive speech is latent. 3. Apprehension without words and without signs, which is apprehension by those who are free from the latencies of discursive speech. This fundamental wisdom corresponds to the third apprehension. Because it is described as "signless", it lacks an objective aspect; because the word "apprehension" is used, it possesses a subjective aspect. Below, in the discussion of subsequent wisdom, the word "said" occurs twice; it should be known that both are citations from the Yogācārabhūmi.
