Regarding 'Designated as sarva-mahābhūmika-dharmas in Hīnayāna treatises': 'bhūmi' means sphere of activity, which is precisely the citta-rāja, because it is the sphere where those caittas act. 'Mahā' means that the various caittas such as feeling act universally within minds of the three natures. The citta-rāja is the grand home-ground of these [caittas] such as feeling, perception, and intention, and is called the 'mahābhūmi.' Feeling and so forth are in turn the dharmas belonging to the house of the mahābhūmi mind, and are called 'mahābhūmika-dharmas.' These dharmas pervade minds of the three natures and so forth, and are called 'sarva-mahābhūmika-dharmas.' This is a karmadhāraya compound. Thus the verse in the Abhidharmakośa says: 'In all minds.'
