此慢差別有七九種者。言七慢者。五蘊論云。一慢。二過慢。三慢過慢。四卑慢。五邪慢。六我慢。七增上慢。言九慢者。如發智論第二十卷俱舍十九大毘婆沙百九十九。皆說慢類有其九種。謂即我勝。我等。我劣。有勝我。有等我。有劣我。無勝我。無等我。無劣我。

Regarding "this conceit has differences of seven and nine kinds": as for the seven conceits, the Pañcaskandhaka-śāstra states: first, conceit; second, excessive conceit; third, conceit beyond conceit; fourth, inferior conceit; fifth, wrong conceit; sixth, I-conceit; seventh, arrogant conceit. As for the nine conceits, just as the Jñānaprasthāna-śāstra in fascicle twenty, the Abhidharmakośa in fascicle nineteen, and the Mahāvibhāṣā in fascicle one hundred and ninety-nine all state, the classes of conceit are nine kinds: namely, "I am superior," "I am equal," "I am inferior," "there are those superior to me," "there are those equal to me," "there are those inferior to me," "there are none superior to me," "there are none equal to me," and "there are none inferior to me."
