深密等經於阿賴耶等者。等即等取阿毘達磨經及唯識論。七種識名如下所列。謂阿賴耶異熟識無垢識是別分位而立別名。其根本識阿陀那所知依種子識通一切位。約通分位而立通名。

Regarding 'Sūtras such as the Sandhinirmocana [apply different names] to the ālayavijñāna', and so forth: 'and so forth' includes the Abhidharma-sūtra and the Vijñaptimātratāsiddhi-śāstra. The names of the seven kinds of consciousness are listed as follows: ālayavijñāna, vipākavijñāna, and vimalavijñāna are distinct names established according to distinct stages. The root consciousness, ādānavijñāna, support of the known, and seed consciousness pervade all stages; they are common names established with reference to common stages.
