1.18

論。三者為令至不退信故　述曰。善根成熟即是十方信終心之人。修十善根自分滿足。故云成熟。今為此人說解釋中發趣道相三種發心。令其進入初住已上住於大乘堪任修行不退信也。

[Treatise:] "Third, in order to cause... faith that does not regress." / [Exposition:] Those whose "roots of goodness are mature" are those at the culmination of the ten faiths in the ten directions. Having cultivated the ten good roots, their own capacity is fulfilled; hence it is called "mature." Now, for these people, the text explains the three kinds of arousing the aspiration in "The Characteristics of Advancing toward the Path" within the explanation, causing them to enter the first abiding and above, to abide in the Mahāyāna, and to be capable of practicing the faith that does not regress.
