1.19

論。四者為令至習信心故　述曰。善根微少即是十信中心之人。修十信善未滿足故。故云微少。為彼顯說修行分初四信四行。令其遍修到信滿位。故言修習信心也。

[Treatise:] "Fourth, in order to cause... to cultivate the mind of faith." / [Exposition:] Those whose "roots of goodness are slight" are those in the middle of the ten faiths. Because they have cultivated the virtues of the ten faiths without yet fulfilling them, it is said to be "slight." For their sake, it clearly explains the four faiths and four practices at the beginning of the practice section, causing them to practice universally and reach the stage of fulfilled faith; hence it says, "to cultivate the mind of faith."
