論。八者示至勸修行故　述曰。十信初心三品之人初修行故退易進難。為彼顯說勸修利益。舉彼損益勸令修捨。言示利益勸修行等。

[Treatise:] "Eighth, in order to show... to encourage practice." / [Exposition:] Because the people of the three grades at the initial stage of the ten faiths are beginners in practice, regression is easy and advance is difficult. For their sake, it clearly explains the benefits of encouraging practice, presenting the harms and benefits to encourage them to practice and abandon [evil], saying "to show the benefits and encourage practice," and so forth.
