論。摩訶衍者。總說有二種　述曰。此下正陳法義。於中有三。初標總開別。次寄句列名。後依名辨相。此初也。總者略也。大乘之理有無量門。今總略說有其二種。

[Treatise:] The Mahāyāna, briefly speaking, has two kinds. [Exposition:] Below this is the proper setting forth of the Dharma and meaning. Within it there are three parts: first, stating the general to introduce the specific; second, presenting sentences to list the names; third, distinguishing the characteristics according to the names. This is the first. "General" means concise. Although the principle of the Mahāyāna has immeasurable approaches, now speaking concisely, it has two kinds.
