論。信成就發心至堪能發心　述曰。次下辨相。辨上三名。即分為三。初中亦三。一明信心成就之行。二顯分成發心之相。三彰發心取得利益。初中又二。初問後答。此初也。文中四句。總為三。問依何等人者問能修。何等行者問所修行。得信成就堪能發心者。問行成已堪為發何心。

[Treatise:] "Regarding the generation of aspiration through perfection of faith, [relying on what persons, practicing what actions, can one attain perfection of faith and be capable of generating the aspiration?]" [Commentary:] Next is distinguishing the characteristics, distinguishing the above three names, which is divided into three. Within the first, there are also three: first, clarifying the practice of perfecting faith; second, revealing the marks of the partial generation of aspiration; third, showing the benefits attained by generating the aspiration. Within the first, there are again two: first a question, then an answer. This is the first. The four phrases in the text form three questions in total: "relying on what persons" asks about who can practice; "what actions" asks about the practice performed; "attain perfection of faith and be capable of generating the aspiration" asks about what aspiration one is capable of generating once the practice is fulfilled.
