論。略說方便有四種　述曰。次下第二重顯方便。於中有二。初標數。後別釋。此初也。於中初一顯不住道。後三即顯三聚淨戒。遍包一切順真方便故。言略說有四種也。

[Treatise:] Briefly stated, there are four kinds of skillful means.
[Exposition:] Next, the second [part] re-explains the skillful means. Within this, there are two parts: first, indicating the number; later, specific explanations. This is the first. Among them, the first reveals the non-abiding path, and the latter three reveal the three clusters of pure precepts. Because they completely encompass all skillful means that accord with suchness, it says 'briefly stated, there are four kinds.'
