論。自信己性至不取不念　述曰。下顯熏功能。於中有二。先明因。後顯果。此初也。文中二節。自信己性等者。因信修解。即信己性本無動念。修離念法以為正因。以如實知下因解修所。順真如無住妙。所以為助緣。凡所修行不見行相不望異果。故云不取不念。

[Treatise:] Having faith in one's own nature [...] neither grasping nor thinking. [Commentary:] Below, the functional efficacy of perfuming is revealed. There are two parts within this: first clarifying the cause, and then revealing the fruit. This is the first. There are two sections in the text. "Having faith in one's own nature," and so forth, refers to cultivating understanding based on faith; that is, having faith that one's own nature is fundamentally free from active thought, and cultivating the Dharma of freedom from thought as the primary cause. From "knowing in accordance with reality" onward, it refers to cultivating what is [realized] based on understanding, according with the wondrous ground of suchness without abiding, which serves as the auxiliary condition. In all that is cultivated, one perceives no marks of practice and expects no different fruit; hence it is said, "neither grasping nor thinking."
