論。是故應當至善根增長故　述曰。此明治障法也。是故應當禮拜等。此即總明除障方便。如人負債依附於王。則於債主無如之何。如是行人禮拜諸佛。諸佛所護能脫諸障。懺悔等者。即顯別除四障之法。諸惡業障懺悔除。謗正法障勸請除滅。嫉妬他勝隨喜對治。樂著三有迴向對治。常不休廢得免諸障等者。此結前方便免障生善也。

[Treatise:] Therefore one should ... because wholesome roots increase. [Exposition:] This explains the method for remedying obstacles. "Therefore one should prostrate," etc., generally clarifies the expedients for removing obstacles. Just as a indebted person relying on a king cannot be touched by his creditors, so the practitioner prostrates to the Buddhas; being protected by the Buddhas, he can escape all obstacles. "Repentance," etc., clarifies the methods for separately removing the four obstacles: the obstacle of all bad karma is removed through repentance; the obstacle of slandering the true Dharma is removed and eliminated through entreaty; jealousy of others' superiority is remedied by sympathetic joy; clinging with delight to the three realms of existence is remedied by dedication of merit. "Constantly without cessation, one can avoid all obstacles," etc., concludes the preceding expedients that avert obstacles and give rise to the wholesome.
