論。復次若人至眾多障礙　述曰。次下第二除障方便。於中有二。先障。後治。此初也。先世多有重罪等者。此舉內因之業障也。魔鬼病苦所惱亂者。感外緣惱之報障也。世間事務所牽纏者。此顯所起煩惱障也。

[Treatise:] Furthermore, if a person ... numerous obstacles. [Exposition:] Next is the second [part], the expedients for removing obstacles. Here there are two parts: first the obstacles, then the remedies. This is the first. "In past lifetimes there were many grave offenses," etc., cites the obstacle of karma as an internal cause. Being disturbed by demons, spirits, and the suffering of illness is the obstacle of retributive fruitions resulting from outer conditions of distress. Being entangled by worldly affairs clarifies the generated obstacle of afflictions.
