論。或現天像至是真涅槃　述曰。次下廣辨魔事差別。於中有二。先辨魔事。後顯對治。初中顯其五對。此即第一所現形聲對也。以此現形說法異相或亂行人令失本道。是故皆名為魔障也。

[Treatise:] Or they manifest the forms of devas [... this is true nirvāṇa]. [Exposition:] Next is the detailed discernment of the differences among demonic events. Within this there are two: first, discerning demonic events; second, showing the remedies. In the first, five pairs are shown. This is the first: the pair of manifested forms and sounds. Because they manifest forms and preach the Dharma with aberrant marks, they may confuse practitioners and make them lose their original path; therefore, these are all called demonic hindrances.
