論。當知過去至得成淨信　述曰。此顯僧寶依法成也。夫言僧者。和合為義。淨信無違方得名僧。三世菩薩既依此法得成淨信。故謗此法亦得名為斷僧寶也。佛僧斷故法亦不行。是故名為斷三寶也。

[Treatise:] "One should know that all past […] attain pure faith." / [Exposition:] This shows that the Saṅgha jewel is accomplished by relying on the Dharma. As for the term "Saṅgha," harmony is its meaning; only when pure faith is without discord can it be called Saṅgha. Since the bodhisattvas of the three times attained pure faith by relying on this Dharma, slandering this Dharma may also be called severing the Saṅgha jewel. Because the Buddha and the Saṅgha are severed, the Dharma also ceases to function; therefore, it is called severing the Three Jewels.
