5.117

論。謂以專意至永離惡道　釋曰。此後顯其專念之益。謂此行者以知如來方便攝護專意故。隨其願樂見佛因緣得生淨土見佛不墮。故新論言。作是念已發大誓願。一心專念佛及菩薩。以生如是決定心故。於此命終必得往生餘佛剎中。見佛菩薩。信心成就永離惡道。

[Treatise:] That is, by single-mindedly [focusing on the Buddha, in accordance with their vows they obtain rebirth in other buddha lands, seeing the Buddha and forever departing from the evil paths.]
[Commentary:] This next reveals the benefit of single-minded mindfulness. It means that because this practitioner knows the Tathāgatas' skillful means of protection and is single-minded, according to their aspiration, by the condition of seeing the Buddha, they attain rebirth in a pure land, see the Buddha, and do not fall. Therefore the new translation says: "Having made this reflection, one generates a great vow and single-mindedly concentrates on the Buddha and bodhisattvas. Because one generates such a decisive mind, at the end of this life one will certainly attain rebirth in other buddha lands, see the buddhas and bodhisattvas, achieve the mind of faith, and forever depart from the evil paths."
