5.121

論。如是摩訶至我已總說　釋曰。次下則正示利益勸修。於中有三。初總結前說。次舉其損益。後總結勸修。此初也。如是摩訶演者。舉所勸修大乘法也。言祕藏者。顯甚深義。唯佛與佛乃能知之。如王髻珠。非根不與。非謂悕惜名為祕藏。新論名為觀察句義。謂顯文義皆知深故。我已總說者。顯以略文攝廣義意。

[Treatise:] Such [is the secret treasury of the] Mahāyāna, [which I have comprehensively explained.]
[Commentary:] Next, it directly shows the benefits and encourages cultivation. In this there are three: first, summarizing the preceding explanation; next, raising the harms and benefits; and finally, a general concluding encouragement to cultivate. This is the first. "Such a Mahāyāna" cites the Mahāyāna Dharma that one is encouraged to cultivate. Calling it a "secret treasury" reveals its extremely profound meaning, which only a buddha and a buddha can know, like the jewel in the king's topknot which is not given to those without capacity. It is not called a "secret treasury" because of miserliness. The new translation calls it "contemplating the meaning of the phrases," meaning that both the text and meaning are known to be profound. "Which I have comprehensively explained" reveals the intention of using concise text to encompass vast meanings.
