5.48

論。已說解釋分次說修行信心分　釋曰。解釋分竟。次明第四修行信心。於中有二。初結前起後。後正顯修行信心。此初也。前解釋分廣明大乘。今欲廣顯起信之義故。

The treatise says: "Having explained the section on exposition, next is the section on cultivating practice and faith." The commentary says: The section on exposition is finished; next it explains the fourth, cultivating practice and faith. In this there are two parts: first, concluding the preceding and introducing the subsequent; second, directly demonstrating the cultivation of practice and faith. This is the first. The preceding section on exposition extensively elucidated the Mahāyāna; now it wishes to extensively demonstrate the meaning of awakening faith.
