5.84

論。或亦令人至顏色變異　釋曰。此第五所變念色對也。顏色變異者。如斯論云。使其形容或好或醜。此下更說。若為見諸煩惱所亂。即彼退失往昔善根。譯者取言廣略異故。

Treatise: "Or they may also cause people... [down to] ...their complexion changes." Commentary: This is the fifth pair: changed mindfulness and physical appearance. As for "their complexion changes," this treatise says that it causes their physical appearance to become either attractive or ugly. Below this it further says that if one is disordered by seeing various afflictions, one will backslide and lose one's former roots of goodness. This is because the translators chose words with differences in brevity and expansiveness.
