[Treatise:] Spontaneously having [inconceivable karmic activities and manifold kinds of activities, which are identical with tathatā and] pervade all places. [Commentary:] Below clarifies the characteristics of the activity. Herein there are two [parts]: first, clarifying the depth and vastness of the activity, which enables clarifying the signlessness of the activity. This is the first. 'Spontaneously' and so forth reveals the depth of the activity. 'Which are identical with' and so forth [reveals its] vastness. The wondrous activity being hard to fathom is called 'inconceivable karma.' The characteristics of the activity being immensely numerous is called 'manifold kinds of activities.' The effortless cognitive activity is called 'spontaneously having.' This means that relying upon the substance of the aforementioned dharmakāya, without waiting for deliberate intention, it arouses inconceivable activity. Hence, the Mahāyānasaṃgraha concludes this point, saying: 'Just as the maṇi jewel and the heavenly drum accomplish their tasks without thought, so too the manifold Buddha-works are accomplished while always free from thought.' Since this wondrous activity is aroused relying on tathatā, it is identical with tathatā in pervading all places.
