1.49

思益經云　云何比丘隨佛教隨佛語。答言。稱讚毀辱其心不動。是名隨佛教。不隨文字語言是名隨佛語。又比丘滅一切諸相。是名隨佛教。又云。身無所起心無所起。是名第一牢強精進。

The Viśeṣacintibrahma-paripṛcchā-sūtra says: "How does a monk follow the Buddha's teaching and follow the Buddha's words?" The reply was: "Praise and disparagement leave his mind unmoved—this is called following the Buddha's teaching. Not following written words or speech is called following the Buddha's words. Furthermore, when a monk extinguishes all marks, this is called following the Buddha's teaching." It also says: "With body nothing arising, with mind nothing arising—this is called the foremost, steadfast vigor."
