楞伽經云 如水瀑流盡。波浪即不起。如是意識滅。種種識不生。
The Laṅkāvatāra-sūtra says: "Just as when the torrential flow of water ceases, / The waves do not arise, / So when the mental consciousness is extinguished, / The various consciousnesses are not produced."
