於善知識生福智海心等者。謂善知識是我福德智慧之海。如諸珍寶積集海中。一切白法集福智海。既由因善根諸願方滿。既能令我積集白法。故與我作福智海也。

Regarding "producing the thought toward the spiritual friend as an ocean of merit and wisdom, etc.": this means that the spiritual friend is my ocean of merit and wisdom. Just as various precious gems accumulate in the great ocean, so all white dharmas gather in the ocean of merit and wisdom. Since it is through the cause of roots of goodness that all vows are fulfilled, and since they can cause me to accumulate white dharmas, they serve as my ocean of merit and wisdom.
