Regarding "matters contrary to the pāramitās": this refers to dharmas that are contrary to the six pāramitās. In rejoicing in, desiring, and being attached to wealth and sovereignty, seeing deep merits and benefits—one should know this is a matter contrary to giving. Seeing merit and benefit in indulging body, speech, and mind according to whatever one pleases is contrary to discipline. Seeing merit and benefit in being unable to endure others' contempt is contrary to forbearance. Seeing merit and benefit in not exerting oneself and being attached to sensual pleasures is contrary to effort. Seeing merit and benefit in dwelling in noisy, vulgar, and worldly mixed conduct is contrary to concentration. Seeing merit and benefit in the verbal proliferation of seeing, hearing, sensing, and knowing is contrary to wisdom.
