成就八法能淨尸羅等者。菩提心者即三聚戒。忘菩提心即失淨戒。求二乘地異求小果亦非護戒。取著於境障礙淨心即失淨戒。恃戒陵人是真破戒。不捨慈悲名不捨願。不求當有名不依生。能勝利生名成大願。戒淨相者即第三四。非謂一切皆戒淨相。

Regarding "accomplishing eight dharmas can purify śīla, and so forth": The bodhicitta is precisely the three collections of precepts; forgetting the bodhicitta is losing the pure precepts. Seeking the grounds of the two vehicles, which differs from seeking the lesser fruit, is also not protecting the precepts. Grasping at objects so that it obstructs the pure mind is losing the pure precepts. Relying on morality to domineer over others is true breaking of precepts. Not abandoning kindness and compassion is called not abandoning vows. Not seeking future existence is called not relying on birth. Being able to successfully benefit sentient beings is called fulfilling great vows. The marks of purity of morality are the third and fourth; it does not mean that all of them are marks of the purity of morality.
