Regarding "having taste and having no taste, and so forth": Attaining the joy of samādhi within meditative absorption and indulging in it is called "having taste". Therefore, in the scattered state without the joy of samādhi, it is called "having no taste". Regarding "restraining, guarding, and patiently enduring when cultivating giving": restraining one's three karmas to guard against killing, stealing, and the like possesses the nature of morality. Giving internal and external wealth while patiently enduring all sufferings possesses the nature of forbearance. The remaining meanings are easy to understand and should be explained by analogy.
