大乘入道次第開決 1.22

1.22

覩者歡喜等者。花嚴經云。修此行時。令一切眾生歡喜愛樂。若見一切來求索者。菩薩見之倍生歡喜。由此二行名歡喜行。

'Those who behold them are joyful', and so forth: the Avataṃsaka-sūtra says: 'When cultivating this practice, they cause all sentient beings to be joyful and delighted. If they see anyone coming to beg, when the bodhisattva sees them, joy doubles.' Due to these two practices, it is named the 'joyful practice'.
