從何而得斷耶者。此諸斷義稍難取意。未見本釋。且作一解。若有別義改而正之。謂所斷障有其二種。一則麁重。二乃現行。從於何者而得斷耶。然所斷障不離三世。從於何世而得斷耶。

Regarding "from what is it severed?": these various meanings of severing are somewhat difficult to grasp; having not seen the original commentary, I will provisionally offer an explanation. If there is another interpretation, let it be amended and corrected. Namely, the hindrances to be severed are of two kinds: first, crude heaviness (dauṣṭhulya); second, active manifestation. From which of these is it severed? Furthermore, the hindrances to be severed do not depart from the three times. From which time are they severed?
