若影隨形應所化者。此句顯佛利他德果。由利他德從法報身而起應化化諸凡聖。如影隨形而得起也又應所化如影隨形不捨離也以此句中含二義故。是故亦以二義釋也。

'Like a shadow following a form, responding to those who are transformed': this line displays the resultant virtue of the Buddha's benefiting others. Due to the virtue of benefiting others, from the dharmakāya and saṃbhogakāya he arises as nirmāṇakāya to transform all ordinary persons and nobles, able to arise like a shadow following a form. Furthermore, responding to those who are transformed, he is like a shadow following a form, never abandoning or separating from them. Because this line contains two meanings, it is therefore also explained through two meanings.
