趣向一切智潮等者。如因潮泛枯涸水盈。蒙善友攝受慈波演溢。故善知識為智海潮。

Regarding “the tide of approaching all-knowledge,” and so forth: just as when the tide rushes in, parched dried-up waters are filled, so through being embraced by good spiritual friends, waves of compassion overflow. Therefore, the good spiritual friend is the ocean tide of wisdom.
