"Departing from the bondages and attachments of arrogance, and so forth": that is, when this bodhisattva gives rise to all roots of goodness, they all arise from a mind of respect, reverence, and esteem; this is called departing from arrogance. Not seeing oneself as practicing and others as not practicing, thereby giving rise to contempt, is why the word "and so forth" is placed. Regarding oneself as able to practice is called bondage; regarding others as unable to practice is called attachment. Having departed from all bondages and attachments such as arrogance is called the mind of liberation.
