Furthermore, there were eight hundred billion mighty devas, as well as monks, nuns, laymen, laywomen, devas, nāgas, yakṣas, humans, non-humans, and so forth. Śakra Devānām Indra and immeasurable heavenly beings, abiding in the midst of the sky, rained down jeweled celestial flowers, and immeasurable music played spontaneously. The Brahmā Saṃpati devas burned marvelous divine incense to make offerings to the Tathāgata; the clouds of incense smoke reached everywhere throughout immeasurable worlds in the ten directions, [making the vow,] "May this universally and equally make offerings to all the Buddhas of the ten directions, make offerings to all the Dharmas of the ten directions, and make offerings to all the great bodhisattvas of the ten directions." Such devas as these made offerings to all Buddhas for such benefit, seeking the unexcelled path of the Mahāyāna.
