彌勒白佛言：「於世俗義，根為法性，無根為證，靜不動亦不不動，一相無相，乃至有為無為法，有漏無漏法，有對無對法，色法無色法，可見法不可見法，不住亦不不住，是無根義。」

Maitreya addressed the Buddha, saying: "In conventional meaning, the root is the nature of dharmas; rootlessness is realization. Still, unmoving, yet also not unmoving; of a single characteristic, which is markless; up to conditioned and unconditioned dharmas, dharmas with outflows and without outflows, dharmas with resistance and without resistance, physical dharmas and non-physical dharmas, visible dharmas and invisible dharmas, neither abiding nor not abiding—this is the meaning of rootlessness."
