身觀菩薩白佛言：「有記之法非塵勞垢，無記之法亦非塵勞。何以故？塵勞垢者是卑賤法，有記、無記法是上尊法，無以無記對於塵勞。何以故？塵勞法者如來種也。」

Bodhisattva Kāya-vipaśyanā addressed the Buddha, saying: "Determined dharmas are not the defilement of affliction, nor are undetermined dharmas affliction. Why is this? The defilement of affliction is a base dharma, whereas determined and undetermined dharmas are supreme, exalted dharmas; one should not counter affliction with undetermined [dharmas]. Why is this? Afflictive dharmas are the seed of the Tathāgata."
