4.53

「或有菩薩摩訶薩一時之頃，能令三千大千剎土即為水界，猶如得禪比丘觀無量水界，水性之虫黿鮀龜鼈無所觸嬈，積劫功勳不敗不朽，是謂菩薩摩訶薩入水界三昧。或有眾生見菩薩入定謂為是水，或持瓦石草木投水入定菩薩，心如虛空，不覺有觸嬈者，是謂菩薩摩訶薩入水界之力。

'Furthermore, a bodhisattva-mahāsattva in an instant can make the trichiliocosm become a water element, just like a bhikṣu who has attained dhyāna contemplating an immeasurable water element, wherein water-dwelling creatures, giant softshell turtles, iguanas, tortoises, and freshwater turtles suffer no harm or disturbance, accumulating merits across kalpas that neither decay nor rot. This is called the bodhisattva-mahāsattva entering the water-element samādhi. Or there are sentient beings who, seeing the bodhisattva enter concentration, think it is water, and throw tiles, stones, grass, and wood into the water at the concentrated bodhisattva; yet the bodhisattva's mind is like space, unaware of any disturbance. This is called the power of the bodhisattva-mahāsattva entering the water element.
