迦葉告阿難言：「云何？阿難！佛所說經，若有得道羅漢六通清徹者，修四神足多修多行，能住壽一劫有餘。卿何故默然而不報佛？」

Kāśyapa told Ānanda, "Why [did you act so], Ānanda? In the sūtras spoken by the Buddha, if an arhat who has attained the Way and has the six superknowledges clear and penetrating cultivates the four ṛddhipādas, cultivating them much and practicing them much, he is able to remain alive for an eon or more. Why did you remain silent and not ask this of the Buddha?"
