7.43

「時香音神王，聞踊出地神語，心開意解五體投地：『汝為我師化我童矇，我今愚惑不別真偽，受我悔過如癡如愚。』爾時，地神即從地踊出，現佛金色身，三十二相放大光明，以神足力接香音神至於胎觀，彼諸會眾無覺知者。佛告諸來會者：『吾從無數阿僧祇劫，能大、能小入細無礙，或在天上劫數教化，或在人中代彼受苦，或在畜生、餓鬼、地獄，分身教化無所不入。』時香音神王，及七十二億眷屬，尋發無上住不退地。」

'At that time, the gandharva king, hearing the words of the earth deity who had emerged, had his mind opened in understanding and threw his five limbs to the ground: "You are my teacher, transforming my childish ignorance. Now, foolish and deluded, I did not distinguish the genuine from the false. Accept my repentance for being as though blind and foolish." At that time, the earth deity immediately emerged from the earth, manifesting the golden body of a Buddha with the thirty-two marks and radiating great light. By supernatural power he brought the gandharva king to the contemplation in the womb, without any of the assembly being aware of it. The Buddha told all those who had assembled: "For countless asaṃkhyeya kalpas, I have been able to become large or small, entering into the subtle without hindrance. Sometimes in the heavens for kalpas I have taught and transformed; sometimes among humans I have suffered on their behalf; sometimes among animals, hungry ghosts, and hells, dividing my body to teach and transform, entering everywhere." Then the gandharva king and his retinue of seventy-two billion immediately generated the unexcelled [aspiration] and abided in the stage of non-retrogression.'
