"Or at times a bodhisattva enters the samādhi of compassion, pervading the south throughout infinite, immeasurable, asankhyeya realms, equal to the sands of the Ganges, toward the categories of sentient beings, mindfully compassionate, wishing to bring about their liberation. Taking one grain of sand from the sands of the Ganges, passing lands equal to the sands of the Ganges, and depositing one grain, in this way exhausting the sands of the Ganges, their compassionate mind is not exhausted, bearing suffering on behalf of those sentient beings. These are all the firm vows of the bodhisattva; sentient beings who behold them with a pure mind leave behind all evils, their false thoughts already severed, immediately accomplishing the unsurpassed Path within the womb.
