"Entering the stage of the second dhyāna, his mind is suddenly awakened like the moon cleared of clouds; examining his own mind, he makes a vow: 'Is it firm, or is it not firm?' With his own mind he further examines the minds of sentient beings, fully knowing whether they are easy to deliver or difficult to deliver. At that time, the bodhisattva's mind rejoices exceedingly: 'I shall surely become a buddha without any doubt. I will purify the lands, remove the defilements of sentient beings, subdue Māra, and turn the unsurpassed, noble wheel of the Dharma. How delightful is this karmic reward; what I have aspired to will surely be accomplished.' At that time, the bodhisattva enters undisturbed samādhi, uplifting mind with mind and uplifting body with body, immediately attaining the accomplishment of the noble path of supernatural powers, traveling from one buddha-realm to another buddha-realm, venerating and making offerings to the Buddhas, the Bhagavats, listening to and receiving the profound Dharma without difficulty or fear, advancing into the third dhyāna, observing that all forms are completely empty and non-existent.
