"Through countless asaṃkhyeya eons, I cultivated the supernormal knowledge of the divine eye, knowing universally the kinds of sentient beings in the ten directions: those suited for practices of emptiness and those not suited for practices of emptiness; those with concentrated minds and those without concentrated minds; those with distracted minds and those without distracted minds; those with vajra resolve and those without vajra resolve; those with meditative concentration and those without meditative concentration; the realm of devas, the realm of humans, the realm of hungry ghosts, the realm of animals, and the realm of hells—with the divine eye, seeing all and knowing all. Seeing these sentient beings destined for nirvāṇa with remainder and nirvāṇa without remainder, and also knowing if these sentient beings attain nirvāṇa in the antarābhava, knowing all of it completely; knowing that this sentient being is heading toward srotāpanna and attains the fruit of srotāpanna, is heading toward sakṛdāgāmin and attains the fruit of sakṛdāgāmin, is heading toward anāgāmin and attains the fruit of anāgāmin, is heading toward arhat and attains the fruit of arhat, is heading toward pratyekabuddha and attains the fruit of pratyekabuddha; and also observing sentient beings renouncing household life in austerity without abandoning their original vows, shaving hair and beard, wearing Dharma robes on their bodies, entering the samādhi of the lion's stride, beneath the king of trees contemplating and viewing the tree, for one day, two days, up to seven days; or one year, two years, up to seven years; or one eon, two eons, up to seven eons. This is called the bodhisattva-mahāsattva's accomplishment of the supernormal knowledge of the divine eye."
