'Furthermore, the bodhisattva-mahāsattva enters the solitary-walking samādhi, causing all sentient beings in this trichiliocosm to see the bodhisattva's walking, lifting and lowering his feet. Those who encounter the bodhisattva and behold his footsteps can restrain transgressive people from entering the hells, hungry ghosts, or animals. This is all because the bodhisattva's body, speech, and mind are pure, and having made vows to deliver them, he will reach the ultimate end and never retrogress. This is what is evoked by the bodhisattva-mahāsattva's immeasurable good merit and mental vows.
