At that time, among the assembly was a bodhisattva named Suvikrānta, who was complete in the six perfections and skilled in expedient means. Wherever he transformed and taught, there was none he did not reach; wherever he entered an assembly, none who saw him failed to rejoice; with correct contemplation and concentrated attention, he was a field of merit for the world. If good sons and good daughters encountered this bodhisattva-mahāsattva, all evils would be utterly eliminated, and they would universally give rise to blessings and celebration, contemplating the non-dual Dharma-gate of equality, constantly delivering the multitudes through dharmas that are like illusions, like transformations, and like dreams, cultivating the Buddha Path free from self and other. At that time, the bodhisattva Suvikrānta immediately rose from his seat, pressed his palms together, stepped forward, and addressed the Buddha, saying: "Excellent, Bhagavat! How are bodhisattvas of the five superknowledges to be known and their practices distinguished? Cultivating what dharma does one attain the path of superknowledges?"
