「弟子！今日次復懺悔畜生道中無所識知罪報，懺悔畜生道中負重牽掣償他宿債罪報，懺悔畜生道中不得自在為他斫刺屠割罪報，懺悔畜生無足二足四足多足罪報，懺悔畜生道中身諸毛羽鱗甲之內為諸小蟲之所唼食罪報。如是畜生道中有無量罪報，今日至誠皆悉懺悔。

"We disciples today next further repent the retributions of the karmic offenses of ignorance and unknowing in the destiny of animals; repent the retributions of the karmic offenses of carrying heavy burdens and being dragged along to repay past debts in the destiny of animals; repent the retributions of the karmic offenses of lacking self-mastery, being hacked, stabbed, slaughtered, and butchered by others in the destiny of animals; repent the retributions of the karmic offenses of animals being footless, two-footed, four-footed, and many-footed; repent the retributions of the karmic offenses of having small worms nibble and feed upon one within the body's hair, feathers, scales, and shells in the destiny of animals. For the measureless retributions of karmic offenses such as these in the animal realm, today with utmost sincerity we completely repent them all.
