A short while later, Baoda further entered the Fire-Arrow Hell. Why is it named the Fire-Arrow Hell? That hell is ninety yojanas in length and breadth, enclosed on all sides by iron walls, with fierce fire and blazing flames; the ground is entirely covered with iron pikes, and smoking fire blazes furiously to scorch the sinners. On its four sides, festering winds rise together, and in the void, a fierce wind abruptly rushes to blow against iron mountains. When the mountains grind against each other, they turn into fire-arrows; when the fire-arrows rub against each other, smoke and fire flare together; the shafts and feathers of the arrows are also on fire, and they come and shoot the sinners, entering through the head and coming out beneath the feet, entering through the back and coming out through the chest, piercing through from left to right, with fire burning and smoke and flames issuing from the wounds. The sinners cry out in agony beyond words, undergoing immeasurable retributions day and night, dying a thousand deaths and taking a thousand births, dying ten thousand deaths and taking ten thousand births.
